Nokia-8 Premium: A New Flagship Unveiled

HMD Global, the maker of Nokia smartphones, has unveiled its latest flagship device, the Nokia-8. This premium smartphone is set to hit the market in early September, priced at 599 euros or 702 dollars.

A Nod to Nokia’s Legacy

HMD Global, leveraging the iconic Nokia brand, aims to make a significant impact in the smartphone market. The Nokia-8 features a unique dual-camera setup, allowing users to capture photos and videos simultaneously with both the front and back cameras. This innovative mode, called “BOTHY,” is designed to popularize the concept of dual-perspective video.

Innovative Features

The “BOTHY” mode enables users to broadcast live videos on platforms like YouTube, capturing both the scene and the user’s reaction in real-time. The Nokia-8 also supports 4K video recording with its 13-megapixel cameras, both front and back, crafted by German optics manufacturer Zeiss.

The smartphone boasts a 5.3-inch display and includes three microphones for 360-degree audio capture, utilizing technology from Nokia’s high-end OZO virtual reality camera, which is used in Hollywood studios.

User Experience

HMD Global President Flora Seich highlighted the practical benefits of the Nokia-8’s features, especially for reporters and personal video creators. The ability to show both the event and the user’s reaction simultaneously offers a more immersive experience.

Design and Availability

The Nokia-8 will be available in four colors: Matt Silver, Polished Blue, Matte Blue, and Polished Copper. It runs on the latest version of Android, offering a pure Android experience without any manufacturer modifications.

HMD Global has reported strong performance from their earlier smartphones and plans to release the Nokia-8 in markets with high average phone prices, including Europe, some Middle Eastern countries, and Asia. However, the Nokia-8 will not be available in the United States or China due to the need for a different strategy and technology investment in these regions.

The Nokia-8 represents a blend of innovative features and classic Nokia reliability, poised to make a mark in the competitive smartphone market.
